X5 mpg

Hey hey
I have a 2003 BMW X5 3.0d automatic
I bought it about 3 years ago at about 67k on the clock
It's now at 104k which I think is still pretty decent for the age,
I do a mixed about if driving of motorways and city.
When I bought the car I was getting anything between 550 to 650 miles to a full tank. Now I'll be lucky to get 400.
I service it regularly
Let the engine warm up for about 5 minutes before I drive off since iv bought it and still can't figure out why it drinks so much
The tyre on the car are brand new and are all balanced and 4 wheel tracked
Suspension was changed to coil springs etc so everything on the car as far as I can see is on point
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to bring the mpg back up
