Suspension air compressor different parts
Hi, I've bought from these guys before, but recently got what appears to be a different part from the original.
Wabco original: ![]() Paomotoring.com: ![]() As you can see, the lower compressor vs the above Wabco part. Has anyone come across this? This is the product page I ordered from: OEM 37226779712 For BMW X5 (E53) 2000-2006 Brand New Air Suspension Compressor | eBay Did I receive an incorrect part? A funny thing about these compressors, the one I bought off ebay matches the one in this replacement guide for X5 e53:

I just rebuilt mine with the new piston ring and o-ring and it works great now!!
Well worth the $15 for the rebuilt kit

Taco...there's a big problem...you don't have any model/model year listed...and we also don't know if you have the single rear axle SLS system (EHC 1) or the dual axle SLS (EHC II).
If you ordererd the compressor generically (by looks or just for the X5)...you may have received the wrong part. One usually does better when ordering parts when they look up the part number in one of the online part databases...then input their VIN to bring up the diagrams/part number index that is specific for their BMW. Again if we knew what model/model year/SLS system you had...we could say easy if you have the correct part. I beliieve the compressor number listed on the link to the website you posted...is for the ECH II (dual axle SLS). Go to one of the sites below, enter your VIN, the work your way to the rear axle diagrams. Find the compressor (#8)...and select the part number for the option you have (single or dual axle SLS)....then shop using the correct 11 digit BMW part number for your X5. This will help weed out vendors selling the compressor that does NOT work for your application. Good luck...below are some really good online part databases...that also have really good part number search features (which will list the old & new part nbrs when BMW has changed them over the coarse of production: I pulled up this diagram using my 2006 X5 4.4 with single axle (rear) SLS: Click link to go directly to the part number index for the diagram below: http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E5...and_ctrl_unit/
