No more ZF transmission problems

Got my 2004 back from the Indy today.
I ordered a new set of ZF factory solenoids, foam gasket,
Figure 8 gasket from California ZF company.

All new parts installed and it's a brand new X5. No more waiting from
R to D. No more slam from second to first gear. No more hunting for
Correct gear. ALL fixed by simple new solenoids.

There are other members here that gave me the courage to do this.
If you have a lift, or a good Indy, by-all-means DO IT.

The most annoying aspect of driving the facelift X5 was the transmission.
Not any more.

I did this to my 04 4.8 when I bought it also. Shifts very nice now and had for the last year.

Interesting! What did the repair cost you in parts and labor?

What fluid did you use?

The solenoid kit was 300+.
Labor 2 hours.
Used ZF miracle fluid.

You have link for place to order parts? How many miles on your transmission, mine is ok, but the occasional hard downshift. Mine 187k. I am begining to like the x5. So i am thinking i should do this.
