I found one cup holder at junk yard with 5 tabs out of 6.
I'll try to re glue the holder somehow and maybe reinforce the other tabs so they don't break.
Unfortunately the center console has to come out which is somewhat of a tedious task.
Easy fix. And no - the console doesn't need to come out.

Push the remaining (or broken) clips INTO the guts of the console - the original clips attached from the inside.

Then go to your favorite BMW parts supplier and buy six new clips - the new parts clip into place from the OUTSIDE.

Note - I DID actually fish out the broken ones - I HATE rattles!

Haha yes I wouldn't be able to just push them out and have them rattle.
But i do happen to have center console right now.
Thanks for the part number. Damn they're $100 in canada.
Do you like the new ones or old ones better?

Yeah, I think I paid close to NZ$100 too.

The new ones are slightly tighter - since they fit from the outside. Not a bad thing but larger cups can be a bit fiddly to get in there. But at least you know you can push down and they aren't going to break off!

Not sure but I suspect that cheap used parts from some countries just means that a lot of BMW's get "lighter" after parking..

That’s about the same price as I buy parts from my local dealer for in the US.

I’ve used that seller for some rare Euro only parts (E30 M3 and E36 M3 related). Takes a while, but they get here well packed.

Edit: https://www.bmwoffairfaxparts.com/oe...09-51169111091

They are well priced, although you might be able to find a dealer that’s one or two bucks cheaper. I have a fantastic relationship with the parts counter guys at Fairfax, though. (And an order history to match.)

I've got four
full sets that I will never use all of. I tried to cancel two of them, but they had already been prepared for international shipping. I think I paid $75 per set. I'd sell up to 18 for $10/ea, shipped within US. I can ship them out right away!
