Burnt Valve In "Number Three"
Alright, Today I stuck the snake cam down cylinder number 5 and was disappointed but not supprized. Cylinder #5 was causing the miss fire with a burnt valve (camera is aimed at the outside edge of the overhead valve) . Strangest thing about it is, that the Disa pin is still in place. We're trying to figure out what chipped the valve.
![]() New fuel lines, pump, and sending unit had just been installed on this. So I'm glad that it wasn't anything fuel wise, but I'm still pretty disappointed in the valve. We bought "Number Three" knowing that it would need an engine. So what I think we'll do now is buy a "stage 1" head from VAC motorsports and see how long the internals last. So yes Danny, we'll be keeping the original 325K mile engine in the car I'll change the title of the thread to something like "Skeletor's Turbo E53 build" when we actually have the turbo in hand just in case something between now and then happens and we can't start it
