Great news about trailer wiring

Great news found out how to get the factory wiring setup from bmw still . Just got a 2003 e53 to replace my blown 2001. I ordered in the module and wiring kit for a e83 with n52. I got mine from ecstuning part number #185399. The module was a direct fit. Now for one of the easiest mods ever, the harness fits but the pins are not in the correct locations. I simply removed the pins and matched them wire for wire. Went out and plugged into my 20 foot tilt deck and all was well.

Hope this manages to help all the others that want to tow but don't want to buy hack job aftermarket wiring.
Ecstuning #185399
Mfg #71600035369

Cost $174.65

Can you explain what wires were swapped with which other ones?
Thanks,

the module plugs right in no changes. than go to the harness thats right by the tailgate when opened. where the trailer wires plug in the pins need to color match side for side. simply use a depinning tool to remove the pins from the trailer side. reinsert them so that they match on both sides of the plug. you may or may not have a extra wire on the trailer side (grey and black). this was not used on my 2003 so i simply put it in an empty slot.

this will give you a 7 spade rv style trailer plug. I was unable to locate the harness separate from the module it only seems to be available as a kit. this kit also includes a 7 round to 4 flat adapter. if you just need the adapter just go to any farm store and buy one, or most hardware stores.

Does anyone have pictures of this set up? I know you need the trailer module to be able to enable rear fog lamps. Still very unsure of how this whole set up is supposed to work. I just want rear fogs.
