LED Specifications for Instrument Cluster on 2006 X5

A previous owner or the dealer I bought the X5 from pulled the instrument cluster out and un-soldered and removed the LED that lights up for a DSC error. Does anyone happen to know or have the specs of the single color surface mount LED that the instrument cluster uses. I have not found any information on it to give to a supplier to obtain 1. I wrote a pretty please note to 1 of the Instrument Cluster Rebuilder asking about it but have received ZERO responce. I have been involved with electronics for years and have the tools and knowledge to get the LED soldered back in place. Finding the right LED seems to be an issue at present. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks !

Thanks Wayne, hard to tell just based on a picture if the dimensions are the same. Is that a BMW Instrument panel in your picture ? I ordered 10 of those just for giggles worse case scenario is I have wasted another $6.00 with shipping. No big loss at that point. I just want the error light to work ! I use my code scanner after every long trip in the X5 to check for any error codes, so far none have come back. I appreciate your input and I will post when the led's get here and get it replaced.

I'm not Wayne...but I can confirm that yes...the pic in his post is that of the lower left side of a BMW instrument cluster....where the Check Engine Light resides. There can be more bulbs than icons depending on how your car is optioned (high or low cluster). For instance, the US market did not receive rear fog lights...so the icon for that (2nd position on top right of the lower section) isn't used. Again, the high & low instrument clusters also have a slightly different layout depending on how optioned:

You are Awesome, in fact everyone has been awesome with replies. Not my first Bimmer but it is my favorite thus far. The more I drive it the more I like it. I have the High version and it is not the Check Engine but the DSC Led they removed. It would have been lit when I picked it up if it had 1 as the were multiple error codes dealing with the transfer case actuator gear which I have replaced. I have fixed all the mechanical pieces on this X5 with the exception of the passenger side remote fold in mirror, it has some issues finding its position at present. Thank you very much for your post. I ordered a few of the LED's based on what Wayne had replied to me so it looks like I should be able to get my warning light fixed when they get her the end of next week. Shady used car dealers really Piss Me Off !

Oops...sorry about that...I jump around to multiple forums (e38/e39/e53/e70) and many times there are similar threads/issues. I should have went back up to the top to reread your original post.

Good luck in getting it all together.
