Help Needed - 2002 X5 Radio Works, but No Sound

Hi All,

I purchased a 2002 bmw x5, knowing the radio did not work and was hopeful something I might be able to fix myself. So a few things...

No DSP No Nav
Radio and Professional CD player
Radio turns on and can scan channels and fully functional
No sound from the speakers, not a hum or a crackle or anything, silence

I also purchased a new Eonon head unit and plugged it in...same thing...radio fully functions, so sound from the speakers.

I have checked the fuses in the glove box and in the back. Really not sure what else to try. Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers!

my 2006 lost sound a couple of years ago and it turned out to be the amp. check in the rear drivers side access panel.

that amp is maybe 6x6 inches

Got the amp out...I think I see the problem....

The cable has some green at the connector as well...what is the best way to clean that up?

Should I try DeoxIt or some kind of corrosion killer before purchasing a new amp?

Has been water in there before. Does the car have. Sunroof? I'd be checking the drains from the sunroof as well to make sure they arent. Blocked. Otherwise it will just Happen again

It does have a sunroof....have not checked the drains. I will do that. Car was from PA, so it is pretty crunchy underneath and some other spots.

Defiantly check the drains. Water leaks out of them. Into the side compartments and down under the spare tyre where the other control modules and battery are. Ends up pooling and causing electrical nightmares.
