How to Remove Panel Under Steering Column

Any tips? I have watched the youtube videos saying to squeeze the plastic and pull down. I have been trying that with real effort for 20 minutes, no dice. I have removed the T20 screw, but I am at the point of breaking this thing apart. What am i missing?

There are two plastic lock screws, the ones that have a lip to hold and turn 90 degrees (hope that made sense? ) in addition to the T20 screws.

I don't see those.

There was a T20 screw in the lower panel, and a phillips head in the upper panel.

Next to the diagnostics hole, at the bottom.

Thanks for the photo!

I am afraid I was unclear, it is the lower steering column cover I am trying to remove- still unsuccessfully.

Thanks for your posts!

Are you referring to item #17 in the diagram below...is that what you're trying to remove? If yes...Then #18 (on top section) & #19 (on bottom section) in the diagram below is what secures the pieces together...once those are remove...you should be able to squeeze...or take a thin flat tool and pry them apart.

Yes, trying to remove number 17. I have removed both the top and bottom screws, but no variation of squeezing or prying has worked yet- Seems as though further effort will break one of the covers. That may be what it comes to, and I'll just need to replace that too.

Thanks for the response!
