Seat swap question/issues
Hey all,
I have a 2006 Lemans 4.8is, original sport cream interior on black. Was able to score a parts car with sport imola red seats. It is actually a 01 4.4i and the seats were swapped in there from a crashed 4.6is to my understanding. I have swapped the entire interior over yesterday, door panels, etc and im getting 3 issues, 1 of which i believe went away.
First issue - The connectors to the seats were all plug and play - the IMOLA interior is heated seats, sport, power, and memory functions. My stock cream interior on the 4.8is is exactly the same. Upon turning the key to ON, or starting the car, when i press heated seat buttons they wont light up. Next time give or take when i switch ignition again, they will light up! Sometimes disappearing again after a second, sometimes being able to click them thru all the modes, but it goes off shortly after.
Second issue- The memory keys on the side, normal function when you want to save settings, you would hit the M key, it lights up with a red LED, then you push the 1-2-3 buttons where you desire it to be saved. This red LED is not lighting up for me, unable to save.
Third issue- I think i got this one solved as it hasnt come back. Upon exiting the vehicle and closing it, or locking/unlocking then opening the door. The seat would start adjusting itself to some previous position automatically. From some research i read to use my key to start the car, then when turning it off and exiting the car, to lock the car using the door tumbler with the actual key. Did that 2-3 times and i havent seen it come back. Anyways along with that issue, i believe since the memory function isnt working, and i got the seat to finally stay, my steering wheel wont adjust lower upon starting the car, meaning i need to hit the switch and do it manually.
Im not sure if this is something as simple as swapping the module from my cream seats (the one where the memory and control functions are attached to) or if its something else i need to code. If anyone has an idea or can shed some light would be appreciated. Thanks!
