Radio for Aux input

Hello, do all the radios for the e53 have the aux input option when you buy the correct cable? i remember my e46 323i would only work on Alpine radios after 2003.

I just made an aux cable (similar to my e46) with the 300 ohm resistor across pin 3 and 4 and no option for aux comes up when i hit mode.
I have 2001 x5 .

It needs to be a radio from 9/2002 or newer build.

what kind of head unit you have, the NAV or without nav?

without nav, but its ok, i got a double din deck going in. can't be bothered.
