01 e53 OEM Tailights - Free

Hey all, just trying to give back to the community

I just replaced my OEM tails with LED, so don’t need these anymore. I was getting the dreaded check brake/cheack rear lights message so these will most likely need to be fixed up.

If your local, please swing by to pick them up. If you’re not local you’ll have to pay for shipping.

I’ll probably donate or trash by the end of the week.

Located in Southern California, Orange County.

Which LED lights did you buy and how
Are they working out? I have an 02 with the same issue. Thanks!

I got a set from eBay, vendor was vipmoto I believe. Customer service and shipping were great. Figment was great. Only issue was the led back up light were not error free, so they threw a code, flickered and did the crazy cold start light show. I just put the OEM backup lights in and problem solved. They are going to refund the cost of the led bulbs.

I would suggest asking and making sure the leds are error free for your specific model and year.

Btw, they look great. Really updated the look of the x5. I hadn’t really been concerned with that until I saw them on

i had the same issues with mine, the i had to pay for the whole assembly (~300 per dealer) but i preferred the original assembly over a LED, since it looked nice at night time.
