2002 BMW X5 E53 3.0 SpeedDometer Problem

I have a 2002 BMW X5 E53 3.0 SUB where the speedometer randomly does not work. When it does not work, I used the left or right turn signal and the speedometer starts working.

Can some expertise help me some troubleshooting steps to try?

Did you recently jump start the car?
I would check fuses 1, 43 and 45. If they are good, the problem may be internal to the cluster.

Speedometer respond 2

I tried the link you provided. It did not fixed the issue.
The fuses 1 , 43, and 45 are GOOD.

These are the steps from youtube about reseting the instrument cluster.
1. Key not in ignition
Remove fuses 1 / 43 / 45
2. Turn key to position 2, take out the key and put back
fuses 1 /43 /45
3. Start the car.

The speedometer does work so it can't be the fuses.
When it does not work, I make a left or right turn signal and the speedometer starts working right away.

Best guess then is the cluster itself

Sounds like a grounding problem in the cluster like overboost said.

dinhw, did anything of note immediately precede the speedo failure, i.e. any servicing, adding a new radio etc. or was the failure spontaneous?
