New air compressor not working 4.8is

I have an 04 4.8is with only rear SLS, suspension is fully depressed and the pump didn't turn on, all fuses are ok.

I bought a new compressor and air bags for both sides assuming the pump is burned out.

I installed the new compressor and it is still not firing up.

Any one have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Need to read the computer do you have the software or know somebody that does?

i have same problem right now. The version of INPA I have (10.2) only has E39 listed and the only module i can read is for the trans...

When I try to connect to 1-axle air suspension I get IFH-009 "no response from control unit"

I have a diagnostic tool just not sure it’s able to read SLS codes. It does ABS, SRS, and a bmw enhanced global scan. When I first got the car it had a bunch of codes that were possibly related, but I erased them & don’t recal what they were.

I think I figured out my INPA issues. Will take another look at it later. My fuses aren't blown so hopefully this sheds some light otherwise time to pull the compressor and bench test it.

4.8is.... rear air suspension only. what? how? why? They are ALL supposed to be F/R.

You could be using the wrong pump, but even in that case it shouldn't connect.
Was this car converted to rear only or some kind of special Euro import?

That was the impression that I had, but its rear air only. The pump I used connected right up same plugs & fittings.

You may want to look into this further. The reason your pump may not be turning on is likely related to this.

I found a local person who has the software to read the SLS codes, he is coming today. I do not think that this has anything to do with the car being rear SLS only, but I guess I'll find out.
