Lets Talk Tires...
It's about that time for me to be looking at a new set of tires. My Diamaris have about had it are very close to their end. That in mind, I was wondering if you guys had some advice on what the best (SUMMER) tire the market has to offer these days. Something with incredible grip and solid stability and GOOD speeds. I'm looking for 2 options: 1. Cost not an issue...best tire possible 2. Best Bang for the buck Any comments much appreciated

1. Stick with the Diamaris. Most guys seem to really like them. 2. Toyo Proxes S/T or Kumho STX are the best "bang for your buck" tires. The Kumhos are a little cheaper than the Toyos. |

I'd go with the Toyos. I just put them on 3 weeks ago and they're great. I'm thinking of using them year round as they are mud and rain rated, and can be used in the snow too.
Do a search on the Toyos in this forum, as they've been discussed before. |

I know PNG had bad experience with his Pirelli Scorpion Zero, however that tread design and style does not exist anymore.
Currently, the Pirelli has a Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico which has a different, quieter design. If rain is a problem, the Diamaris hydroplane too easily. The Pirelli has less problem with hydroplaning and actually no tramlining issue like I had with the Diamaris. If you get light snow, then Scorpion Zero Asimetrico has one advantage of being a M+S tire and I had no problems with driving through 1.5 feet of fresh snow with these tires. As a rain tire it has been excellent. In the dry, it stick pretty well. x5Monkey has been impressed with the new Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico. Also, you have to remember, PNG is a desert rat so his opinions are based on hot, dry weather conditions. Quote:

Being in Vancouver, summers are pretty hot and dry. Get a bit of rain here and there but not as much as we used to. Anyone have any pics as to what these look like on an X?

I'll throw in my 2 cents...
All the above mentioned tires are excellent replacement for the Diamaris. Like PNG said if you like the Diamaris then there's no reason to change to anything else.
Another tire that deserves mention is the Conti SportContact. I'm currently running them and they're solid performer, very comparable to the Diamaris.

Not too keen on the Diamaris. Those Pirelli's on the other hand look rather interesting. Thanks for the info.
