Coolant level sensor leaking.

Folks, silly fool here.

I had to move the coolant header tank and managed to pull out the level sensor. This now has a small leak. The 0 ring looks okay but I suspect it is not.

Can I get new 0 ring? Or do I need a new sensor please?

Car is a 4.8is 2006 model.

You probably need a new coolant tank. AFAIK the sensor doesn't come in contact with the coolant. It is activated by a magnet in the float.

Wrap the o-ring with 3-5 wraps of Teflon tape. If leak stops it was the o-ring. I just did this life hack on my lower hose temp sensor.

Tip: stuff a rubber glove with foam and you can quickly stuff in the hole while working on the o-ring without draining coolant

Thank you for the help here folks. I shall probably remove the header tank and have a good look at what is going on here. This is turning into a painful headlight bulb replacement ;^(
