Radio is missing...

Good day all!!

I have been actively busy with all the many projects I have on my plate, so I haven't been on here much!! I have many things I need to catch up on for all of yous and I apologize for the delay!!!

So, I have been using my AUX cord in Becky pretty much constantly because I can't get any radio stations... I figured it was an antenna amp thing because my key didn't work either... I got a new key and it works just fine, so back to square one with no stations coming in...

I am pulling the interior from Whitney and installing it in Becky since it has heated front and rear seat (that are plug and play - oh by the way!!! All the wires are there!!)..... While I had everything out, I checked on the antenna connection to the radio under the cover by the battery... Low and behold, there was nothing in that location for Becky... Becky has 677 HIFI system professional as an option... Everything except for radio station reception works... So, what I have not been able to find out with my research is: Does the 677 option delete the radio in the box by the battery and put it elsewhere? OR use some other means to receive the radio stations? I think the "radio" in the dash is just a display, right?! It did have a satellite radio antenna on the roof, but I would think the default would be AM/FM if the subscription ran out... I'll continue my search, but if anyone knows right off, that would be super great!!!

Thanks all!!

Cheers!!

If you have the radio located in the back or front is determined by if you have the navigation screen or the MID. What would be helpful is knowing if you have nav or MID set-up.

If you have onBoard nav (and screen) then the radio receiver is located where you looked (next to the battery). If you have the MID, then the radio is integrated into the indash single CD player (or cassette player in older BMW models)
.
The MID is oft misunderstood to be (or called) the "head unit"...which it is not. The MID (multi-informational display) is just that...a simple display control unit that puts control of multiple systems into one component. The MID performs no calculations of it's own. It just receives information from the various systems (audio, OBC, clock, phone, DSP, etc)...and allows you to control the system you have called up.

If this is what you have (the MID)...then the radio is NOT in the back next to the battery...it is incorporated into the single CD or Cassette player that is above the MID:

{if you have the MID pictured above...then the radio is incorporated into the CD43/CD53 or C43/C53 mounted above the MID}

*EDIT* Do you have a plug back there for where a radio would have gone?

Good day!

I figured it was something like this... Thanks so much for the info!! I do have the midi... I did read somewhere that it was just that display... Mine needs pixel attention too... So, now I have to locate the antenna cable that runs to the front of the car... I've done an extensive search with a bright flashlight, but no luck... I wonder if the satellite radio installer cut it...

I have to do some more searching!!

Thanks!!

I have a set of three connectors that don't to anywhere, but they may be for the 4 point air ride module... No big radio plug...

Thanks!!

Cheers all!!!

I missed this statement above. Radio is in the CD.
