Does anyone know what goes on top of the left side of the rear? It looks like there's an empty slot designed to house something?

Mine is empty also and it is "loaded" by US build standards. I'm guessing that's something for other markets... Like a tv tuner or something.

Quick question on transaction details:

The used car dealer I purchased the car from is only giving me a bill of sale with his signature on it.

Shouldn't I get a title as well?

Or do I apply for one with california DMV when the car is brought over from the dealership?

How do I check and find out whether there's any liens or title issues with this vehicle?

The Bluetooth antenna sits up there. The actual BT module is down below (black and purple connector).

you need to see the title and check what's in it, erasures, liens, salvage status... without the title you can' t transfer ownership to you unless you want to spend time with the DMV people..

bill of sale is worthless, in my state it's not even necessary unless you declare the book value of the car very low. You won't even know if it's stolen, repo-ed or junked/salvaged.. (registering a salvaged car is another story)

Thanks for the tip. I just got off the phone with the dealer and they will mail me the signed bill of sale along with the title certificate.

i'm assuming there's a place in the title certificate that allows the dealer to sign and release interest in the vehicle?

there are 3 sections of it in the back, the 1st part is the original owner who signed it, 2nd part is the name of the dealer who bought it, 3rd is the section where you put your name and sign.

when I buy cars from a private party (not a dealer) it's only the 1st and 2nd part that gets filled.

Is it possible to have both company name and personal name listed for new registered owner? Or can it only be one way or another?

you'll probably have to ask your state's DMV.. I know it's possible to have multiple owners on the title and only 1 signature is required.

I'd also make sure you are familiar with what ever state you are buying from titles requirements are. When I got mine from AZ it needed to be notarized and stupid dealer didn't and took FOREVER to get a clean title. Absolute pain in the ass.

As for this, "Is it possible to have both company name and personal name listed for new registered owner? Or can it only be one way or another?"

Pretty sure it's one or the other. Depend on what your business is and if this is consider an "expense"
