Coil conversion with Eibach springs on V8 models
For anyone who's done a coil spring conversion on a 4.8is or a similarly equipped V8 model and used Eibach springs, I have a question for you; how is your ride quality? I want to dump the air ride as I plan on keeping this thing going for as long as possible while eliminating any future issues with this system. I have somebody who has the Eibach kit that wants to do a straight up swap for my air system, so I called Eibach and asked them what the spring rates were for their sport line springs and I was told:
1. They don't publish spring rates and don't provide them
2. They said it's only for the 3.0 model and wouldn't provide near the same ride characteristics that my current sport package offers.
The other companies that I see offering coil kits use the same part number for all of their coils across all engine ranges, whether it be 3.0/4.4/4.6/4.8. Eibach being the only one to tell me to pump the brakes on this idea.
Sorry for the long explanation to ask a seemingly simple question. Basically, if you used Eibach springs to do a coil conversion how does it ride, do you like it, etc.?
