I counted plugs in my repair since they are supposed to last 60-100,000 miles and I did replace twice on wife's car as the first set (autolife) less than 25,000. Back to NGK for me. Also included oil since that is basically annually with our cars. I do the oil changes when requested by the yellow/red LED. The cars consume enough oil that I've put in 3-6 quarts by the time it's changed

Put some clear nail polish over the hood dent with the chip and call it a battle scar. I'm wondering if your front end vibration was the fan clutch the whole time. If before it failed it just got gummy and ran too fast until it vibrated

Crapola! Had this happen to me on my e36. I'm getting this ultra high performance brushless fan conversion for my 3.0. The fans are awesome, the owner is awesome, and the price is pretty stinking good considering the caliber of fan your getting. Pulls less amps while running than conventional fans, has full ecu control for two fans or you can buy the individual components. Tell John Ryan sent you!

Don't believe the long oil change intervals touted by manufactures these days. You should be changing it twice as often as they suggest.

My car is from way before the 15,000 mile oil change interval. I drive maybe 10-14,000 mi. per year and the automatic system seems to suggest on the order of 8-10,000 based on how much city driving I do.

Since about 30% of the oil will have been replaced by the time I do a change I don't feel too bad at all. The oil comes out looking almost as good as the day it went in. Studies show no breakdown in quality oil after 6-8000 miles it's just about contamination that dictates the need of the change.
