3.0D Smell - Glow plugs or Oil from Turbo?

Hi all

Further to my other thread, I have searched and can not get a definitive answer as to the culprit on our X5 smell.

I had thought it was the glow plugs which I was getting around to (we have warm climate) but as it is down on power and the wife is complaining of lag (nothing happens when she accelerates) together with possible finding oil on the outlet side of the turbo, I'm beginning to suspect either PCV, turbo seals/bearings.

It has the usual small amount of smoke on start up...

Is there anyone who can offer advice or thoughts as to the symptoms?

Cheers
