Identifying ECE spec headlamps
At first I thought you could just tell by the side indicators if they were amber or not. It turns out however that there are US spec headlamps about with CLEAR indicator lenses. Are there any markings on the back to show if they are ECE spec or not? |

There are a few articles on ECE spec HID lights floating aroud here....dont have the link handy right now..but in one of my old posts i linked them: I think it was on the daniel stern lighting website, where he says the ECE spec housings will have a E1 with a circle around it, plus others....the 'number' corrosponds to the 'country'.......'1' being germany, and so forth....i found my circled E1 on the white sticker top center of light housing. (Kind of hidden with the light installed). The stickers on my old lights had worn away...but i believe my new euroclears to be ECE spec.....they sure look like it at night....more of a purple right above the 'cut-off' line and a very sharp pronounced cut off as well....hope this helps....B
