Anti-Rattle Spring - Front Brake Pad

Hi Everyone,
Front Brake Pad Anti-Rattle Spring Clip- 2004 X5, 3.0i
Would someone please let me know if that's the correct way of installing this clip in the picture. Note that the wings (red arrows) are riding on the top of supporting piece. I think the wings should be tucked behind, they just won't move any further. As shown the spring clip is quite firm and does not budge by hand; but I'm not sure.
Plus, I had a hard time fitting it. Is there a proper way?

Looks like you have the "arms" of the clip above the caliper carrier tab, rather than "under" them.
