Emergency/Accident Questions

My wife was in an accident last night in which a car came across the median at her and she t-boned it. She is doing well with only some soreness this morning. Anyway, I was curious about the emergency procedures on our 2002 X5. She said the X5 tracked perfectly in her lane so she did not get into other cars around her. She also said the air bag went off, the X5 completely shut down, and the flashers came on automatically.

Does the 2002 X5 have an emergency fuel shut off upon impact? My wife was thankful she was in her X5 and is already wanting another one (if this one cannot be repaired.

Also, if anyone has any tips on dealing with the other persons insurance agency I would appreciate it. I am worried about the use of BMW parts in the repair job and also if the insurance company will pay me additional monies since I will now have to check the "damage greater than 20%" box when I go to trade it in.

Thanks in advance.
