SEVEN40iL is on a distinguished road
Canadian 2005 E53 3.0i Welcome & Appreciation post

Hello to all! I wanted to make a welcome & appreciation post, as this forum and it's members have been a GREAT help and resource for anything I wanted to know about my '05 E53 3.0i.

I am new to the E53, but not new to BMW. I also have a 2000 E38 740iL, which I am an original owner of, and has never seen a winter. I have been very active on bimmerforums for the 7, and recognize a few members from there as well!

But this post is about the X It is a Sport with Pano roof

Love the colour on this X

My first "mod" was to update the stock angel eyes with something brighter, so I went with the WeissLicht brand in 6000k

Hard to show the true colour in pictures, but they are definitely brighter than stock!

So the next item I wanted to tackle was the rear camber. Now I know these X5's usually have negative camber in the rear, but mine was a bit excessive, so I had to investigate

So it turned out that the camber bolt was broken on the drivers side, and the toe adjustment on the passenger side was tweaked, leading me to believe the X slid into something like a curb because there are no other signs of damage or repair.

So enter Hardrace adjustable Camber arms and adjustable Toe arms, along with new camber bolts.

These things are built beautifully!

Clearly shows camber wear

Got it all aligned to my liking:

My next item was to bring the X to modern standards in terms of connectivity and communication.

Enter the Seicane S6902 headunit, which I only learned about because of this forum, and the great members here, especially Crowz, for putting together the how-to to make it all happen!

Went from this

To this

(Still buttoning it up, I know I know Crowz, it's been forever doing this install )

And now since the alignment was good, the X was ready to receive it's snow shoes! Picked up a set of Style 74 Stars for cheap locally! 18" x 8.5" all around

Brand new Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2's in 255/55/18 all around

How she's sitting as of today

Hope that wasn't too long of an intro thread, and hope to get as involved in this forum as I have been over on bimmerforums with the E38 7!
