New Member: Hello & Meet Greta

Hello, everyone! New member, long-time lurker. This forum has been an amazing resource on my journey to E53 X5 ownership. A big thanks to all of the contributors here.

I'd wanted an first generation X5 for quite a while and the fever finally got the best of me several months ago. I found this 2002 3.0 in black sapphire metallic with one owner from new and 84k miles and decided it was time!

She's a good, solid truck but had a few parking lot dings, so I had a friend re-paint the left front fender and hood. Added new matte black grills & roundel. Put a set of re-finished Tiger Claws with Atturo tires on her. (She originally came with 17-inch wheels - saving those for WV winters!) Gave her a 2-stage machine polish & trim restoration. Put a new driver's seat switch in, seat (and tilt/tele steering) was dead when she arrived. Cleared a brake trifecta of lights on the dash (due to a dead battery), she's been running and driving like a champ!

She is black sapphire metallic with black leather. She came with the Premium package, Cold Weather package, Rear Climate package, heated steering wheel, auto dimming mirrors, lumbar support, xenons & the premium hi fi speaker system. Unbelievably, everything works The interior is in like new condition.

I've dubbed her Greta (yep, I name all my cars....). I look forward to driving her every morning. Should have bought one a long time ago! A couple of phone pics of her...please excuse the gas pumps and sewer department trucks in the background

Looking forward to participating in the forum, hope everyone is staying healthy and sane during these stressful times.

Wait....is yours steel blue?? Not a color you see that often. Like the black wheels too! I thought about a 4.4, just chickened out on the maintenance lol.

You've done all of the hard jobs! I'm a parts changer at best, so I very well may be asking for some advice sometime. I appreciate the offer
