Damnit sunroof cover material unglued.

So my sliding cover, the big on from my pano roof, the material is sagging down. I managed to get it closed without pullin it all down, and managed to get some access from the pass side. I think I will get some contact cement and go to town.

Anyone know if I can take out that cover without dropping the entire cassette?

What's a good glue for it anyway? Contact cement might saturate through, so not sure.

Thanks in advance.

As promised here are the pics.

Tool for tucking in the sides.

Does anyone know if I can drop the headliner on the driver side only? I need a way to tuck the material back over the panel.

I have to admit. I am pretty shocked about this happening to a BMW. This is some cheap shit glue. Never, ever, ever had this happen before. How the efffk does glue give up in 6 years?

Nah Term. Look at the reviews. I helped a bud put back this headliner on a Nissan. He had that crap. I have to say that it's garbage. That's why I ask here. Those that did the suede headliners, what did you use.

Airplane glue? Might stink a while until it fully cures? Hobby shops have all kinds of cement to use!

a common way to fix sagging head liners is to use a fabric steamer. What happens a lot of times is the glue loses it's moisture and fails. The steam gives it a second life and will often fix it.

Went to my buds shop. Got a can of 3M upholstery adhesive. Killed 1.5 cans. Done. I think I'll update the pics later. I feel a bit high. lol. That shit was potent. Yea pain in the ass though. Didn't have to take anything off. Figured out that it is not tucked over the panel, just flat on the sides. This became apparent when both sides became completely loose. It seems to be only tucked over on the front, and front corners. Lots of blue tape, lots of spray, and a few years off my life. Done.

Did you drop the headliner, spray the adhesive and then reapply? Are you reading my post right, or does it look Psychodellic??? Ohhhh Ahhhhh!!!

Since I have owned the 4.8is, I haven't opened the pano roof, I just leave it closed. I don't want to find out if it works or not lol

nah all good. Was in garage, both doors open, fan on. So all good now. No, I didn't have to drop the headliner.

No no no, you mean, garage doors closed, heat lamp on, and all cracks sealed. You better get some fresh air! lol

Well that is good that you didn't need to drop the headliner.
