Faulty Electrical

I have a 2004 X5-e53 V6 with an electrical issue. My indicator lights work but the 'ticking' has stopped and there is no indication in the cabin they are working. When I lock my vehicle, I get the audible indicator but my lights no longer flash outside. Additionally, the sunroof & seat warmers no longer work. I have checked every fuse in both behind the glove compartment and in the cargo area; there are all good. I suspect some sort of short somewhere as I recently found about 4 inches of water in the right passenger rear wheel-well, from the sunroof run off drain being plugged. Some wires in that area were damp. Any suggestions on how to find the fault?

I would say get everything dried out and then disconnect the battery for a while to let everything reset.

A good place to start is to look at the wiring diagrams for your 2004 E53 I6 (not V6) and check out what is common to your failure points.

For instance, here is the drivers heated seat wiring...

And here is the sunroof wiring...
