Alarm goes off on the hot sun

Searching tells me this is a problem with the switch that tells the alarm if the hood is opened? It's quite reliable... Sitting in hot sun on 90+ degree days will set the darn alarm off several times per day.

Can I really just replace the simple switch and the problem will go away?

Did I just win the German Engineering lottery?

Even more simple: Just disconnect the switch. Mine's been disconnected for a few years.

I agree with Propellerhead just disconnect it.

Ditto, disconnect it first...you never know...it may not be the cause of the false alarm. If you unplug it first, and the alarm still goes off...then you'll know to look elsewhere for the issue.

That's not too bad as the highest I've experienced here was 133f. Cardboard window shades turn blackish within a week.

I wish the sun wasn't so sandy and I really miss flat-nosed beef and beer

I designed a small pilot plant that was built in Masdar City a few years ago. They wanted me to go start it up in August. I'm glad it didn't work out. Would have been a fun story to tell I'm sure.

I wish you'd come over and at least got to see what I think should be described as the a "beach on the surface of the sun, where the tide is so far out it's in another country!"

I'll post a pic of my thermometer that's in the shade all day when I get home.
