REALLY LAME QUESTION

I am about to scrap a 2004 imola red 4.4i w/151k miles on it. I KNOW...it SHOULD be saved. THAT is why I bought a currently 6th e53. HOWEVER, the engine has bad compression, barely running, no throttle response, suspect tranny, 9-owners before me and some vandalism from theft recovery. While I DID try to save it, I could not get engine running any better after the first few days with new gas, MAF, coils...so now it HAS to go! My question is, what should I pull off, besides the CATS before scrapyard picks it up??? I usually have in spare parts what I need to keep my fleet running well enough that I don't have to scramble for higher ticket items. Can anyone recommend the top 5-10 things that would be worthwhile to remove and flip to recoup close to purchase price? I'm keeping headliner and hood, but just about anything else I pulled would be redundant, if kept for storage. I need to cash out. Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

6th e53? I’d say you’ve done your part for the cause!

ATC transfer cases are much more rare I think and new parts to rebuild them are increasingly scarce. Cobra was down to what they had in stock as they couldn’t get any new bearings or seals from their suppliers when I rebuilt mine last year. You may want to pull it if it has the ATC transfer case.

Front driveshaft if it is the longer version, or has been lengthened.

Door cards, if they are in good shape. In fact I need a right front, if it’s tan!

Seems like people are always looking for tow packages.

Headlights if they are in good shape and not hazed over.

Stereo amp and subwoofer if it has one.

Thanks, Henn! These doorcards are black, but I’ll see if I have a tan one. No towing package, unfortunately. I WAS going to grab DSP amp because my daily started playing sound only from drivers dash mid! I’ll check on t-case and would love for someone to chime in about likelihood of longer front driveshaft being a 06/04 build?

X5chemist will become famous soon enough
If you were closer, I would take some black interior pieces. How are the console wood trim pieces? Doors? I have a few that have clear cracks. Exhaust swap would be nice too.

Exhaust seems aftermarket, but with the way it sounds when trying to run, it’s a bit tough to tell what I’ve got. Doors are just OK and door trim has been wrapped by an amateur.
