Why not just spray some soapy water and see if it's coming from the rear bags...
Given the age, I'm sure the bags would use replacing Sinks down after a day or 2 is not a slow leak to me.... Last edited by jsoto; 08-28-2018 at 10:53 AM. |

While it's possible for other types of leaks to be had, most common is from the bags themselves. I recently just replaced mine and it's a simple job. Spray the bags with soapy water to start and I'm sure you'll find the leak. If not, move on to checking the lines.

It's probably the airbags. How many miles on the car and are they original? Rubber degrades over time especially in New England.

If you remove the rear cargo cover and spare tire, you can access the air compressor(Giant black hump over the battery and under the spare tire) and lines(red and blue I believe, may be neutral colored as well) Slow leaks can be tough to find but some patience and a thorough check should show something. Start with the ends of air tubes and see if that shows anything. Also check large hose that goes into the top of the air spring, you just have to remove the plastic side panels on each side. Check a DIY on e53 air shock replacement on here or pelican to give you an idea where to look and how to access everything.
edit: Also, slow leaks can be tough to spot, double check the bags if you don't see anything up top as they are usually the problem. Last edited by Mouse; 08-31-2018 at 11:57 AM. |
