Eonon GA9166A install into 2002 E53

I am attempting to install a Eonon GA9166A unit into my 2002 E53 X5 3.0 that does NOT have DSP or NAV.
I hooked it up and it sounds great and the steering controls worked straight out of the box.
It has tons of features and looks great too. The only appearance issue I can see is that I wish the
volume and tuning knobs looked factory like on the AVIN Avant 3 model.
I was actually hoping there would be no cutting at all so I could go back to factory setup upon selling it later on.
Oh well.

As for the install....just how much of my factory mount do I have to cut out?
The website shows a photo but its small and hard to see where exactly to cut.

I assume your system has the size of a regular double din.
Yes you'll have to cut, but is not much, I hope this pictures help.

Yes thanks mine looks just like that. Where did you end up placing the metal brackets for
the top mounting screws? On the sides there is a very small gap between two parts of the plastic.
One is a solid part of the dash (I think) and the other was holding the flip up wood door in place.
Does the bracket go in between them or did you have to file down the parts that held the flip up
door and just lay the bracket flat and screw it down?

In my case, the stereo is held only by the front plate, no metal brackets.
I had to make a small modification on the adapter I used, to be able to take the stereo out if I need to.

(just a pair of small holes on the sides to be able to pull it out)
