2003 X5 Aux Input woes
I have purchased the genuine BMW AUX Input lead, and installed it as shown in the below link, but sadly the AUX mode still doesn't appear on the display when cycling through the modes.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxAGSuHMSVE My X5 has the multi CD changer in the boot with BMW Business tape cassette radio up front, the radio is 12/02 date stamped. After some reading some people suggest that any radio unit wit a date stamp of 09/02 upwards should have AUX mode programmed already, whilst others have stipulated that it is 03 upwards only. Biting the bullet I bought another second hand BMW Business cassette radio dated 07/03, but sadly AUX still is not showing when cycling through the modes on the display unit. I have wired the AUX lead in as shown in the following diagram: ![]() I have plugged in INPA Diagnostics and there is no option to enable AUX mode either. Is it just that the Cassette tape radio's do not support AUX input mode? (The reason I tried sticking with this is because I am a sucker for OEM and leaving cars how they come out of factory, that and it doesnt make sense adding a CD player to a car with a CD multi changer in the boot....) Any advice or shared knowledge would be greatly appreciated! Kind Regards, Rory K |
