If you open the rear windows slightly, do you get more heat at higher vehicle speeds? I had that on one of my many former BMW’s. In that case it was a stuck flap but the outside pressure would draw heat through. On my 3.0 I had the cable end pop off the IHKR unit when I changed it. Quick fix.

Is your auxiliary water pump working, my understanding is that it should work until the engine exceeds 3.5k rpm that means really all the time on journeys unless your doing well over 80mph. Don’t know the logic of why mine worked fine at low speed but was inconsistent at higher speed/steady throttle. Replaced failed aux water pump. Easy to check if aux pump is working.

Thanks @ahlem, will give it a shot. Had my aux water pump changed as well as the heater control valve back in August. How would I test if the aux water pump is not working?
Also, I did add coolant and bleed the system, no luck and still have the same symptoms. |
