Black Mat/Fuel Tank Cover p/n
I found a liquid product in a qt can. Would a sheet of 30 pound felt or a roll of that bitumous window wrap sold at the home centers suffice? I'd rather keep the car "stock" if possible. P/N or a vendor link would be most helpful. Thx

I think that cover is probably sold together with the seat or the fuel tank.
I cannot find the PN on realoem.com. The alternative is: 1. Junk Yard. 2. Black Vinyl Floor Covering at Home Depot etc. The stuff people use to cover the kitchen floor or bathroom floor etc.

I'm pretty sure that part becomes brittle I've time and will self destruct upon removal during fuel tank service. Felt would make a fine substitute
