Timing chain question
Shortly pulling the head off my 3.0 M54. 50skid makes the comment not to worry about the timing chain falling into the timing cover as it won’t get past a ledge and easily fished out with a magnet.
True? By myself, Would be nice to know I can just let it go and it won’t jump the sprocket. Thanks. |

It won't. But I always use a zip-tie or a wire of some sort to hold it up and tied it to something so that it does not slip in.
