AE are incredible. 41 /45 would be my pick but sure fun to play with somebody else's 50. Carts the size of a AA battery just too big to fit up through my hand

I have 13 years and 231,000 miles on the clock. Want to see if I can get it to 300,000. We'll see what I do when I get there. Won't be too long, she's my daily driver, and I drive a lot!

Coming up on 4 years and 30,000 miles on the 4.8is and the honeyglow has not worn off yet. Driven her much less the last two years but still love to see her clean in the garage take her out every so often. Only 2 vehicles in the fleet right now so will probably start putting on more miles again. Planning on keeping this one until it is worth original MSRP again (HAH!!!). So basically forever.

It's good to have small hands, because it makes things seem bigger.

Besides... I'm HUGE in Asia

Ordered and bought mine new in 2001, 186k miles now, really see no reason to ever sell it, unless the tranny fails and I can't get that fixed because of parts availability.

Becoming more of an A to B guy the older I get.

Provided that the body doesn't continue to rust, I'd like to keep my manual X5 for as long as possible.

Maybe in 5 years I might replace my leaky oil pan gasket :S

I think the real question is if they will become collectible one day...right now the market value on these is hitting rock bottom so it could be time to stock pile them if you had the space...

If you don't work on them, they become very expensive really fast. I have done a lot of work last year, and now I have a new series of problem to address (radio died, paint is flaking on the hood and roof, Xenon headlight are totally oxidised, etc). It is really hard to justify spending more on the car than it's worth, but I am okay with it for now.

I will most likely keep mine and keep maintaining it slowly over time, but I doubt that it would be my daily driver if I had to drive every day to work.

Our '01 is still running well, though it will need a set of new tires this Summer...
Have had it since new, with ~117 k on it currently.

I voted 1-2 years, but that is dependent on it not going Kaboom anytime soon, and something new not giving me TheJones for a new car.

It remains the 2nd best car I have had in 55+ years of lots of cars, so I may keep it longer than my predicted demise time.
