X5 4.4 M62 Alternator coolant flow?

I just removed all the coolant hoses from my 2002 X5 4.4 and don't recall seeing a hose running from the back of the Alternator housing as in my E38 740i. Moreover I don't see a hose in Realoem either.

So with only one hose connecting to the alternator water jacket (at front of engine above alternator) how does coolant circulate the Alternator?

I think there is a path through the lower timing cover just like the water pump. Not sure which direction the water flows

No. Lower timing cover has same part# as my E38 and same hose connection on back of it but appears plugged on X5.
