Windshield part number?

Stone hit the windshield and it's spidering. Will probably have insurance do the window but I wanted to make sure they're using the right one. Looks like there's 4 different windshield. I do have the rain sensor.

I think this is the correct page on realoem

Yes, that is the correct diagram (if you used your VIN to search the database). Scroll down through the all of the listed part nbrs for #1 and pay attention to the option codes in the supplemental column. Select the windshield part nbr based on how your X5 is optioned. You have the choice of THREE windshields (and the adhesive kit). See the 3 types listed below based on the link you gave us.

You only mentioned that you have the rain sensor...so you need to select the part nbr for nbr 1 that says YES for the rain sensor. If you have the IR (infrared) climate comfort windshield and the rain sensor...then you select the part nbr that says YES for both those features. If you don't have the climate comfort windshield...then select the part nbr that says NO for the option but YES for the rain sensor.

I don't think I have climate comfort, I don't see it listed with my vin in any of the vin decoders.

So I need rain sensor = yes, climate comfort=no i believe so it looks like its the bottom one for me.

You *could* have the climate comfort if you want. It's an added film in between the glass that cuts down on UV and heat. It's a popular upgrade when choosing a new windscreen.

I almost made that suggestion...but then noticed the OP lives in Ann Arbor MI...which is not a real hot climate/sunny location where paying extra to upgrade to the IR windshield would be worth the effort...but since you put it out there...I agree, it might be something to consider even though the vehicle didn't come with it from the factory.
