Bent style 168 rear rim. Need to buy.

Just like the title states. I need a style 168 rear rim. Mine is bent in a figure 8 style causing my car to vibrate. I am not sure this is fixable. Basically when looking at the wheel from rear, you can see it go side to side, and a bit of up and down. Balances out perfectly. Holds air. I believe it is bent at the hub.

Anyway. If anyone has one wheel that would be great. Rear 20” 168. Ty all.

Before you scrap your wheel, take it to someone reputable. I have had wheels which I was absolutely certain where going to be recycled, but were pulled back into shape and guaranteed safe for use. My front driver side has a wobble just as well and will be having it repaired once the winter wheels go on. It's worth a try man! Else, scour ebay and Craigs.

Two shops out of the 10 I called, said the damage didn’t sound like anything serious and want me to bring it in. I measured it at 1-2mm max lateral wobble. This is with my crude eyeball method and a ruler.

I’m still suspicious though. Why are all the other shops telling me it can’t be fixed. Or is it just because they can’t fix that? I’ve had bent lips before, and unfortunately the lip is straight here. Shit.

There is one more shop out in Edison that I saw put up videos of fixing wobbly rims. So going to try them also. But there is some hope still in me. If they can fix it, then I will have them refinish all of mine.

Seriously the roads around here have cost me thousands in direct damage. I can only imagine how much suspension damage was also accelerated by these roads.

Did you know you can pursue making the city you live in pay for your damage? By virtue of taxation, tabs, registration and all the nonsense people pay for to use public roads, the city/state is required to maintain safe roadways; this is the business agreement you and the state make every time you pay your registration fees. If you can prove (and it is possible) that their road damaged your car, they will compensate you in one way or another.

The absolute worst I have seen to date was with a friend who hit a pot hole and the force completely blew the strut through the top strut mount. The city paid for the full repair because they were the ones who left the massive pot hole there causing an unsafe roadway.

This should be a life pro tip. And yes. I have gone after the city for this before. When i had a police report. This time I don’t. Once I hit a pot hole so hard that my rim split into two pizza rings. Not cracked or bent. Fully split down the middle. Then a 5 series right become me hit the same hole and blew out all the airbags. Then about 20 other cars pulled up one after another behind me, with various amounts of damage.

Yea so end result, I got to write of $1k in damages. Nothing else.

Bent style 168 rear rim. Need to buy.

Here's another wheel repair facility to consider, I've used them for two vehicles with very good results.

I will let you guys know what happens. So far 1 place in Brooklyn, 1 in LI, and 1 in NJ are asking to bring it in as it doesn’t sound like a major issue to them.

Great news. The shop fixed my rim. Said it wasn’t bad at all. Got all of mine refinished same time. Love my perfect rims again.
