NAV screen viewing angle

One thing that's bothered me since I bought the X was the awful way the screen looked when you are in a properly seated position to drive. So today I tackled it. I put a few washers behind the two upper fastening points to tilt the screen for a better viewing angle. Turned out pretty good. Still not perfect but much, much better to see. It sticks out a mm or two but it still looks decent.

You should be able to readjust the wood trim to meet the bezel. I did the exact same thing on my Avin Avant-4 install. The top is out 3mm and I mounted the bottom in 3mm.

Don't mind the Okracoke Island ferry ride watching Inception

No, I just removed the trim and the studs in the plastic receivers are tight enough to just push it in 3/4 of the distance to fully seated. Unless someone shoves the trim the rest of the way in, it's perfect. It satisfied my OCD.

I guess a 3mm plastic washer from Lowe's under each stud would work good too. I might even do that myself.

BTW, you're heated sport steering wheel looks brand new. So jealous.

That's because it is. My car wasn't originally equipped with one. Installed it the first Winter I owned it.

So are used double-sided tape to build up the area behind the wood trim. Everything now sits nice and flush. Thanks for the idea!

I retrofitted my heated sport wheel too but it came off fleaBay for $75 so I guess you get what you pay for. I replaced the center plastic trim with new trim piece and the wheel itself has no scratches, rips or tears in the leather, it's just worn smooth. If I knew I would have the X another 5 years I would have it reupholstered to look as nice as yours.
