DIY Photos of my 15 minute $14 CCV Delete

This is not my DIY, this has been an inspiration from a few members of the group and I'm just doing what they have dated.i will add links at some point. I did this right after I drove around town and didn't have any issues with the heat.

I also did not remove my old CCV system, I just left it.

those caps from eBay are a must, they fit so snug and perfect in both the dipstick and extra unattended call off the intake manifold attachment. They are a little flimsy and bend more than I hoped but I researched them from the website of the manufacturer, and it states that it can take up to 200f which I will keep an eye on this.

There are rubber taps you can buy from AutoZone for a few bucks that you can use one of them to put on top of the oil dipstick tube attachment. Yes I already plugged it with a cap but I covered it because I feel like it will remove some of the heat from the engine.

A few tips, if you're going to remove the stock attachment that plugs into the front part of the engine as pictured, do this when the engine is hot. It will pop right out of the fitting. This requires no cutting.

I am by far no expert and I'm not giving professional advice, just posting my experience and potentially hoping to help anyone who may need this dumbed down.

My 02 X5 3.0 runs great now. No more rough idle and pulled a very tight vacuum.

So, if you’ve disconnected the CCV system, what will you use to purge the crankcase blow by gasses? Will it increase the acidification of the oil?
