Question Another blower fan issue - not Final Stage Resistor

Hi,

I have an E53 3.0D with an intermittent blower fan. It comes on and off randomly (for as little as 10 seconds or as long as 10 mins) I have replaced the FSR and this did not change anything, it still comes on and off as it decides, but it works perfectly when it’s running.

As an added complication, I tried to reset the clock for summer time and accidentally set a timer that turns on the heater at set intervals. This was complicated to turn off and eventually flattened my battery, but I worked out how to turn this off. This was just before the blower fan issue started. Not sure if there is a setting that may be impacting the fan when the car is running - ie. a timer that turns it on/off - no idea why such a function would exist, but I think the heater on/off function when the car is off is a pretty useless function too.

Any ideas?
