2003 vs 2005 tranny changes?

I notice with my 2005 that when I am going down a steep hill and apply brakes that the tranny will downshift and RPM's go up to 3K.

My 2003 does not do that.

Is this normal for the new tranny & engine's?

Most likely just a software modification. Did you happend to have the "down hill decent" button on?

It has to be a software change. The feature you are referring to only actuates the brakes. It does not control any part of the transmission.

hill decent was off.
Going down a 10% grade at 50 mph.
Down shifting occurs after applying brakes.
Which seems reasonable but it seems to be to low with a jump in RPM's to 3k range.
