door mirror problem

Hi again.

Slowly getting through the electrical problems.

Next one is door mirrors.

both sides will not adjust.
Checked the 4 fuses on that circuit and all were fine.
the seat module works as it should.

Any help is welcome.

Thank you

I would use my foxwell to attempt to control directly. That lets you know if the prblwm is motor or switch.

More likely the switch if both don't work.

If the control switch is set to driver door, does the passenger side dip down in reverse gear?

I would suspect the switch. I just had a similar issue with the mirrors not wanting to fold in, dip in reverse, not dip in reverse, no control to passenger side and no defrost. Turned out it was the switch. This also affected the window controls and interior light.

FWIW. I had taken a master switch out of another X that did NOT have the fold in mirrors. On a whim I pulled the bottom part of the controls off (three screws) and put it the old switch. Bingo! I figured that since, like many other options on all bimmers, the wiring/switch would be there.

So what I am getting at is if you can get a donor master switch, it doesn't necessarily need to be the exact same configuration.

Good luck.

+1 on the drivers door switch module - they are known to give issues when water gets in them.

The mirror selection switch must be set for the driver side mirror if you want the mirror to dip in reverse. If the selection switch is set to the passenger side mirror, the mirror will not dip on reverse. All this is explained in the owner's manual.
