Car is great to drive like I said love hate relationship with a girl. I gave my X5 nickname of Beatrice because she looks pretty but ugly on inside because she mess with me any chance she gets. Looks pretty but a horror show on inside, if you flip what I side you will get the reference

All my DIY experience is on BMWs starting with my 1997 E39 528 with 240k miles. I bought it CPO with 47k miles. My '05 X5 4.4 is now at 145k miles, also bought CPO at 40k miles. The two vehicles are very similar and share a lot, especially the electronics. I have 2 other BMWs that I also maintain myself. Friends and relatives seek my advice when they want to buy a BMW, and I always gently steer them away if I know they're not the DIY type, unless they want to buy new or CPO'd.

Same. Anyone not independently wealthy or a reasonably skilled DIY'er has no business buying a BMW without a warranty. I always get the "but yours are always so nice and run so well" question after that. On average I sacrifice a weekend a month in the garage. Most aren't willing/able/competent to do that.

Interesting...I doubt most people are going to make videos to reduce ownership costs but you do, so it's fair game.

Excluding Youtube revenue it's been approx $1900 per year to keep an '05 6 cyl X5 in good shape..120k to 180k... and that assumes you do most of the work yourself, I think.
