4.6 Odd issue didn't want to stay running

Im 25 miles past my TG/chain repair on the 4.6 and today it decided to throw me a new issue. After driving it to get it washed and a fill up today I stopped a Lowes for 15 minutes and it would start right up however it would stutter and die unless I gave it a little gas, once you had it in gear it would drive and idle with no issues. Went home and shut it down and it would start right back up and idle perfectly. Currently waiting 15 - 20 minutes to see if the problem occurs again or it was a one off. No CELs present or pending according to the reader. I had the fuel pump & filter replaced last year before the timing blew but I'm thinking I might need to change the filter again since it sat for so long. Any thoughts from the team?

I think you need to do some basic diagnostics and not assume things, i.e. the filter. Filters last a long time and just from sitting it shouldn't have that effect. I would view live data on the engine, maybe check fuel pressures, etc. Also battery voltage when running. And, it could easily just be a gremlin that will never show up again! It is a BMW after all......
