ECS put the Bavauto items on sale - Rear Balljoint Press / Viton OFHG

I am not shilling for ECS.

But they acquired Bavauto's inventory and just put most of it on sale for Christmas.

The Bavauto Balljoint tool (has one flat side for E53 use) is a particular bargain at $77

The Viton Oil Filter Housing gasket (can't get anywhere else- change it once, never again)

Well for S's and G's I went through they're E53 tool gear... I'm got up to 12 items and $406. Now time to do the E60 and E70 tools...

Maybe I can get Santa to make a second trip this year?

That E53 Rear ball joint tool...I bought it last year from Bavauto (when they were still in business) for $59.
Right now, ECS lists the same thing for $77.

Wait, aren’t you the one who says you don’t need the ballJoint Tool?

Go to your local Advance Auto Parts and RENT the tool (Bushing tool).

The E39 5-series and E53 X5 rear ball joints are the same.

I wrote a DIY Rear suspension Overhaul for E39 below and you can see the tool. You can rent a spring compressor at the same time and use the threaded rod with the bushing tool:

Yeah Bavauto parts were probably cheaper when they were still in business..but there is a reason, they suddenly WENT OUT OF BUSINESS..

ECS “lists” the tool for over $100. They have it now discounted it at $77

That ball joint tool is probably as good as the CTA tool, at $120, which I bought.

Yes,

I used Advance Auto rental tool over the years w/o issues, and I posted that info for others so they can replace their rear ball joint w/o the need to buy a tool that is used once every 10 yrs.

I also bought the bavauto rear ball joint tool last year "for fun" since it was $59. This bavauto tool has been sitting in the garage untouched for > 1 yr now.

Ebay has E53 rear ball joint tool now for $49-$50 range.
