rear wiper doesn't work (except for 2 wipes)

Rear wiper doesn't work. Sometimes it doesn't work at all during a drive. Sometimes it wipes 2 times and never works again during a drive. I've checked wiring at the rubber boot, and no wires are frayed. I've checked at the motor and 12v is there.
Failing motor?

You probably know this, it's not a constant wipe, it's intermittent at a fixed interval.

Yup. Rear wiper will wipe 2 times once enabled, and never again for entire trip (hours long).

I guess what I would try is turn on the wiper, let it do it's thing and when it stops, check the wiring at the motor, if it's still hot, as it should be, then probably a failing wiper motor. If the wiring happens to be dead, then may be a failing wiper switch.

Most of the electronics for the rear wiper are on a circuit board in the rear wiper motor housing. The driver chip can be a sore spot.

I have been having an intermittent rear wiper malfunction, but it either works or does not for a drive cycle. There's a 50 percent chance, start the car, drive, use the wiper it starts and runs the entire time.
The other time, it won't go on no matter what.
