Hi guys
I am trying to locate a wiring diagram for an 06 E53 with nav. I have an aftermarket radio and having trouble wiring the power and earth connections correctly. I have the 2 small connections, one blue and one white. I need the constant power for memory, switched power, and ground wires please. I have tested the ports with my multimeter, but the wires I have used give me switched power only unless I ground to the body, then I get constant power even without the key...... Thanks in advance guys |

Have you realised that with nav the radio module with all audio connectors is in the trunk?

Yes and I have the patch cable coming, but I'm not sure whether the patch cable does all the power connection as well?
Xtrons won't respond cos my head unit isn't a current model.....

I installed an Xtrons into one of my X5 with NAV. Unless your car's wiring was cut previously it should be a plug and play installation with the long (patch) cable going from back to the front - quite a bit of fiddling to get it concealed properly..remove a lot of trim and front passenger seat. Just string the long cable over the seats to test first.
Look at the wiring diagrams if you want to, but I wouldn't do anything until you get that patch cable. |
